Philadelphia, PA – December 20, 2010 Michele McHenry, President of Laser Lab, Inc., will receive the nation's premier award for excellence among women's business enterprises (WBEs) bestowed by the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) at its Annual Salute to Women's Business Enterprises, Wednesday, March 23, 2011, before 1,000 corporate executives, WBEs and government and nonprofit VIPs at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, MD.
“Michele McHenry is a role model of innovation and drive for women's businesses everywhere," said Linda Denny, WBENC President and CEO, the leading advocate for and authority on WBEs as suppliers to the nation's top corporations.
Laser Lab, Inc. in Ephrata, PA is a premier provider of customized solutions in the office equipment industry. Using an advanced approach to business machine support, Laser Lab’s remote print management software allows them to be “the eyes and ears” for their customers, monitoring toner levels and error messages, often knowing before their clients that they need supplies or service. McHenry started the Lancaster County based business in 1991 and became certified through WBENC in 2001.
“We are proud to receive this recognition by WBENC,” said McHenry. “As I look back over the past decade, I see the WBEs that have become my friends and mentors. I think about our Council’s corporate supporters, who have guided my business growth. Through them I’ve found that the joy in helping others achieve their goals makes us all successful.”
McHenry will be recognized for her leadership in the tri-state business community, her inspiration to other women business owners, and her active role at the helm of Laser Lab, Inc. The Women’s Business Enterprise Council of Pennsylvania, Delaware and southern New Jersey selected McHenry for this national honor. It is one of WBENC's 14 Regional Partner Organizations (RPOs) which administer WBENC's world-class certification of WBEs, in addition to providing skill-building educational programs and business development opportunities with major corporations.
“Michele is the kind of active, effective business leader every town needs,” said Geri Swift, President of WBEC. “She goes above and beyond for her clients and colleagues and she’s admired in her community, for her commitment as a volunteer.”
